Brianna Boyle (With Three Left Feet from 2007-2009)
Brianna recently graduated from the University of Calgary, with her B.A. from the Department of Dance and Kinesiology; however, her journey in dance began many years prior. She started out in Highland Dancing, a traditional art form, in which she had a successful competitive career and placed in many S.D.T.A. exams. As a teenager she started to investigate other forms of dance, which eventually led her to the Dance Department at the University. The University was a hub from which she could not only explore, but intensively study various forms/genres of dance and learn from world-renowned professors. She has had the privilege of continuing these studies in Vancouver (Harbour Dance Center), Guinea and Cuba, where she has found a particular love for West African and Afro-Cuban dance. Brianna has performed in many productions including, Dance Montage, Mainstage, Alberta Dance Explosions, International Dance Day and Arts Week and Young Canadians.
Through her travels and studies Brianna has found a passion for sharing her love of dance with others. She was fortunate enough to be a part of two pilot programs with the Urban Dance Projects, where she taught students ranging in age from 3 to 73 years old. With Three Left Feet, Brianna continues to share her love of dance with students all across Alberta and is thoroughly enjoying her second season as Team Leader for the company.
This year, Brianna will graduate with a her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta. She continues to keep dance near and dear to her heart through this new journey in her life. She has been dedicated in her studies to exploring the use of dance in occupational therapy (OT) and in the health care system, with hopes of one day combining her love for movement and dance with occupational therapy to help children and adults alike! To say the least, she is keeping her toes tapping and body moving - Brianna was recently responsible for choreographing and organizing a flash mob dance for 163 of her OT classmates, which took place in the middle of U of A campus. This was a main section of U of A's winning submission to a Canada-wide challenge for occupational therapy departments to see who had the most spirit! Brianna was grateful for her teaching experience with Three Left Feet to be able to pull such an event off!
